Caster Size And Common Types

Caster sizes are usually: 30-40 (1.5 inches), 45-50 (2 inches), 60-65 (2.5 inches), 75-77 (3 inches), 88 (3.5 inches), 90-96 (3.5 inches) ), 100-101(4 inches), 125-128(5 inches), 150(6 inches), 200(8 inches).

So what are the common types of industrial casters? What are the common types?

There are four types of universal wheels (H, W, C and U):

Type H

Ordinary casters are defined as hard tread H-type casters. The color of the entire caster surface should be the same color. This type of caster is suitable for carpet floors.

W type

Elastomeric tire casters are defined as soft tread W-type casters. The tread should be a distinct color from the center of the wheel.

This type of caster is suitable for hard stone, wood or tile floors, or those with non-textile coverings.

Type C

This type of caster is antistatic or conductive.

This type of caster should have H-type or W-type wheels. This type of caster may also qualify as a U-shaped caster.

U shape

Casters of this type are used in swivel chairs with built-in braking systems.

This type of caster should have H-type or W-type wheels. This type of caster may also fit the Type C caster.

Note 1: For some applications, swivel chair casters require a built-in brake system that closes when a person sits on a chair with casters, making it easier to move on the seat. When the person leaves the chair, this braking action is automatically turned back on to prevent the chair from rolling away unintentionally.

Note 2: Regarding the type of casters installed on the swivel chair, it depends on the design of the chair and the type of floor used and the covering of the floor.

Casters are not allowed to install permanent braking system.
