Polyurethane commonly known as superior glue, spring glue, full name: polyurethane or isocyanate polymer. Polyurethane is an elastomer between plastic and rubber, and its excellent comprehensive properties are not available in ordinary plastics and rubber.
1. Characteristics of polyurethane casters
The elastomer of polyurethane casters has good properties such as wear resistance, chemical corrosion resistance, high strength, high elasticity, low pressure resistance, strong shock absorption, tear resistance, radiation resistance, high load bearing and shock absorption. Polyurethane wheels also have a wide hardness range, from Shore A10-100.
At present, there are already products on the market that surpass Shaw A100 and above. In addition, the polyurethane casters have excellent sound-absorbing properties, and the wheels do not generate noise during movement, which can achieve a mute effect. These characteristics of PU wheels are very suitable as caster materials.
2. Polyurethane casters can be processed in a variety of ways:
(1) Polyurethane casters can be formed by injection, extrusion, calendering, blow molding and other processes like ordinary plastics (referring to CPU);
(2) Polyurethane caster elastomers can also be formed by plasticizing, mixing and vulcanization processes like general rubber (refer to MPU);
(3) Polyurethane casters can also be made of liquid rubber, casting and molding or spraying, potting, centrifugal molding (referring to CPU).
3. The use environment of polyurethane casters:
It is suitable for use on various grounds; it is widely used in the medical industry, food processing industry, factory handling, warehousing and logistics, machinery manufacturing, etc.; the operating temperature range is between -35~80℃.
◆Polypropylene (PP) casters
PP plastic, chemical name: polypropylene. PP has the best heat resistance, its heat deformation temperature is 80-100 ℃, can be boiled in boiling water, has good stress cracking resistance, and has a high bending fatigue life, commonly known as "Bai Zhe glue", good toughness, Good chemical resistance.
1. The advantages of polypropylene casters
(1) Non-toxic, tasteless, environmentally friendly materials, recyclable;
(2) It has the characteristics of oil resistance, acid resistance and alkali resistance, and common organic solvents such as acids and alkalis have little effect on it;
(3) It has the characteristics of rigidity, toughness, fatigue resistance and stress crack resistance, and its performance is not affected by the humidity environment;
(4) It has the advantage of cheap price.
2. The use environment of polypropylene casters:
Suitable for use on various grounds; widely used in factory handling, warehousing and logistics, machinery manufacturing and other industries; the operating temperature range is between -15~80 °C.
◆Nylon (PA) casters
Nylon (Nylon, Polyamide, PA for short) refers to a plastic composed of polyamide resins. Such resins can be prepared by polycondensation of diamines and dibasic acids, or by ring-opening polymerization of lactams formed after dehydration of amino acids.
1. The advantages of nylon PA casters
(1) High mechanical strength, good toughness, high tensile and compressive strength;
(2) The ability to absorb shock and stress vibration is strong, and the impact strength is much higher than that of ordinary plastics;
(3) High softening point, heat resistance, can be used for a long time at 150 ℃; high temperature nylon casters reinforced by glass fiber, the thermal deformation temperature can reach above 250 ℃;
(4) Smooth surface, small friction coefficient, wear resistance, low noise and outstanding fatigue resistance;
(5) It is self-extinguishing, non-toxic, odorless, has good weather resistance, is inert to biological erosion, and has good antibacterial and mildew resistance.
2. The use environment of nylon casters:
It is suitable for use on various grounds; it is widely used in factory handling, warehousing and logistics, machinery manufacturing and other industries; the usual temperature range is -35~180 °C; high temperature nylon can be used in a high temperature environment of 250 °C.
◆Artificial rubber (TPR) casters
Synthetic rubber is a thermoplastic elastomer, which is a material with rubber and thermoplastic properties, which can process rubber products as quickly, efficiently and economically as thermoplastics, and is known as artificial rubber.
Synthetic rubber casters have the following remarkable properties:
1. Excellent cushioning and shock absorption performance, which can better protect equipment, goods and floors;
2. Excellent impact resistance, far beyond the cast iron core rubber wheel; high shape memory performance, the wheel is not easy to deform when the equipment is placed under load for a long time;
3. Quiet operation, no noise; no corrosion, resistant to most chemical solvents, water and steam;
4. Excellent wear resistance, comparable to polyurethane wheels; strong and tough tread chemical structure ensures flexible operation and free rotation of the equipment;
5. Puncture resistance, can be used on the ground with metal iron filings, gravel, etc.
