How to prolong the service life of industrial casters is a concern of many users. The service life of casters is closely related to its maintenance. The following focuses on:
1. The casters are correctly and reliably installed in the designed position.
2. The caster bracket installed must have sufficient strength and the material must be reliable.
3. The function of the caster cannot be changed, and it is not affected by the installation device.
4. The axis of rotation must always be vertical.
5. The fixed casters must be in a straight line with their axles.
6. If only swivel casters are used, they must be consistent.
7. If fixed casters are used in conjunction with swivel casters, all casters must be compatible with each other and must be recommended by the manufacturer
8. To avoid improper use or overloading, the goods should be lightly placed on the car when the goods are particularly heavy. Driving at high speeds on rough surfaces or hitting the wheels with heavy objects can cause wheel or equipment damage.
9. Regular inspection: Brackets and fasteners: Tighten the loose axles and nuts and check whether the welds or support plates are damaged. Overloading or impact can cause the stand to twist. The twisted brackets allow the heavy loads to lean against individual wheels and cause premature wheel failure.
10. When installing casters, lock nuts or lock washers should be used. The installation of expansion plunger casters should ensure that the plunger is firmly installed in the casing.
11. Lubrication: add lubricating oil regularly, the wheels and movable bearings can be used for a long time. Applying grease to the friction parts of the axle, inside the seal ring and roller bearing can reduce friction and make the rotation more flexible. Lubrication is normally carried out every six months. The wheels of the car should be lubricated after monthly cleaning.
12. Wheels: Visually inspect the wheels for wear. The poor rotation of the wheel is related to the sundries such as thin red and rope. The anti-winding cover can block the entanglement of these sundries. Too loose or too tight casters is another factor, replace broken wheels to avoid erratic rotation. After inspection and replacement of the wheels, make sure that the axles are tightened with lock washers and nuts. Because a loose axle can cause the spokes to rub against the bracket and get stuck. Replacement wheels and bearings should be available to avoid production downtime.
13. Casters: If the movable steering is too loose, it must be replaced immediately. If the center rivet of the caster is fixed by a nut, make sure that it is firmly locked. If the active steering does not turn freely, check the balls for corrosion or dirt. If fitted with fixed casters, make sure that the caster brackets are not bent.
