About The Selection Of Casters

1. The material of the wheel: the materials used for the wheels in the clean workshop are generally nylon, polyurethane, and super artificial rubber (usually, ordinary rubber wheels, especially black ones, are not used, which rub against the ground and are easy to fade). Among the three materials, nylon is the hardest. , it is the most labor-saving to push, but the sound is loud, which may damage the floor; the super artificial rubber (the so-called silent wheel) is the softest, there is no sound when pushed, and it will not hurt the floor, but it is relatively laborious; polyurethane is between the two , so the polyurethane material is generally used, and the hardness is moderate.

2. The material of the caster bracket: the bracket is generally made of carbon steel and galvanized. The cost of the stainless steel bracket is high. It can be selected according to the use environment and requirements. We generally recommend the use of stainless steel brackets.
3. The color of casters: nylon has milky white, gray and blue, among which milky white is used more; polyurethane has sauce red, gray and black, generally choose sauce red and gray; super artificial rubber is generally only gray.
4. Bearings of casters: there are balls, needles, engineering plastic bearings, light-duty casters (each caster bears less than 150kg) generally use ball bearings, which are the most labor-saving to push; needle roller (column) bearings are generally suitable for heavy-duty casters, and their bearing capacity Strong, but the friction is large, and it is relatively laborious to push; plastic bearings (sleeves) are generally used in conjunction with stainless steel brackets, which are corrosion-resistant and can be washed, but compared with ball bearings, the clearance is larger and more laborious.

5. Brakes of casters: there are side brakes, tread brakes, and full brakes. The side brakes are installed in the middle of the side of the wheel; the tread brake and the full brake are installed on the upper part of the wheel; the side brake and the tread brake can only brake the wheel. Radial rotation, the bracket can also rotate; full brake (also called double brake), when one foot is stepped on, the wheel radial direction and the steering of the bracket are braked at the same time. Generally, tread brakes are more commonly used, but we recommend that since you need to use brakes, it is better to use full brakes.
The above are some basic common senses for choosing a caster. Of course, there are many materials and colors of casters, and there are many different combinations according to different use requirements.
